August 24, August 31, September 7 (Turquoise Katun: in autumn the water of the mountain river Katun becomes unusually turquoise in color with golden mountains on background. Greenish sandstone and clear water without impurities and sediment with mainly spring feed causes this unique phenomenon).
Meeting in Barnaul: airport, railway station, hotels of the city (upon confirming). Transfer Barnaul – Solonovka (270 km) – a village founded by Old-Believers and Russian back-settlers, known as a point of attraction for paragliders and a private cheese factory. Lunch in Kerzhak traditions “Lenten cuisine of the Old-Believers”. On request: a flight together with an instructor on a paraglider – a tandem (extra charge). Transfer Solonovka – Iskra (80 km). On the way – photostop “golden fields”. Accommodation in the enclosure for marals. Dinner.

Breakfast. Transfer Iskra – Tog Altai (30 km). Trekking “Reserved Shinok”: extreme drive on real Russian off-roaders (extra charge – from 1200 rubles per person) or you can cover this distance on foot to the launch pad for a 4-hour trekking to one of the highest waterfalls in Altai. The trail goes through a natural reserve, where wild vegetation and bewitching views of 3 waterfalls: “Laskoviy Mirage”, “Double Jump”, “Giraffe” are guaranteed. Route features: you will repeatedly cross the river and manage steep short ascents and descents. The unique mountain landscape in the vicinity of the waterfalls complements their magnificence and beauty of your photos. (We recommend to take a spare pair of shoes). Breakfast. Transfer Iskra – Denisova Cave (35 km). Tour to the cave – the unique archeological site acknowledged worldwide, it is the place where the fossil finger of an ancient human was found. This ancient human (the Denisov man) belongs to a peculiar branch of evolution, different from Neanderthal and modern people. Transfer Denisova cave – Chibit (350 km) through the pass Keleisky (1313 m), Yabogansky (1492 m) along the Bashchelak Ridge through the Ust-Kansk hollow towards the famous Chuysky tract. Further along the Chuysky tract, up the Katun and Chuya rivers to the Kurai Steppe. The history of the traсt stretches back through centuries, when it was a pack road, a branch of the Great Silk Road, a “Chinese path”. The Chuysky tract is included in the TOP-10 of the best roads in the world according to National Geographic. On the way we cross one of the biggest passes – Chike-Taman Pass (1460 m), which in Altaian language means ‘Flat foot’. The pass has been known since X-th century. Now it is an abrupt serpentine road with the view point on the top. From 1996 the pass has got a status of the natural monument of the Altai Republic. Accommodation in a tourist complex. Dinner.

Breakfast. Excursion to Kyzyl-Chin, which tourists call “Mars” (90 km). On the way – photo-stop with the North-Chuysky Range on the background. Walking along the Martian mountains and the canyons of the Kyzyl-Chin Stream. The multi-colored clays on the surface create the sensation of another planet. Transfer Kyzyl-Chin – Geyser Lake. Excursion to Geyser Lake – the unique one, rare in its beauty and cleanness. It does not freeze even in winter. It always looks like an “Earth eye” of an amazing turquoise color. On the mirror of the lake, you can see the streaks of round and oval shape, which are essentially a reflection of the processes occurring at the bottom of the lake, where the “geysers” spring to life, throwing out a mixture of bluish clay and sand. Breakfast. Whole day excursion and trekking – Glaciers of the Aktru valley (extra charge – from 2200 rub./person). Glaciers are a natural phenomenon, which are peculiar and totally unlike anything else. Solid, but fluid, slowly but steadily changing the shape of the mountains, giving birth to the rivers and nourishing them. At the North-Chuysky Range the glaciers descend very low, making it possible to get acquainted with this miracle. Almost the entire variety of existing types of glaciers are presented here: valley glaciers – Bolshoy and Maliy Aktru, flat peaks – Kupol and Vodopadny, kar glacier – the Kar of Maliy Aktru, hanging glacier on the top of Kara-Tash (Trousers of Tronov) and Karov-hanging glacier – Stazher (or Container). Most of the glaciers are hardly accessible even for mountaineers and alpinists. Returning to the tourist complex. Dinner.

Option 1: Transfer Chibit – Katu-Yaryk Pass (100 km). An excursion through the Red Gate and Pazyryk mounds to the Chulyshman River, where the stunning views open for photographing the Katu-Yaryk pass and nearby waterfalls. Pazyryk mounds – 5 large (“royal”) mounds, ancient burials of the Scythian period (Iron Age, VI – III centuries BC). Returning to the tourist complex.
Option 2: Excursion to the “Aktash repeater”, which is an excellent observation deck at an altitude of more than 3000 m. Only from here you can see the majestic Mount Belukha. Returning to the tourist complex.
Transfer Chibit – Lower Katun (380 km). On the way photostop in the Northern part of geopark “Altai”, Chui-Oozy – the confluence of the biggest Altai rivers Chuya and Katun. The photostop on the Seminsky pass (1717 m) – one of the highest passes of the Chuysky tract, which is covered with centuries-old “bearded” cedars. This pass is a kind of bridge to an untouched nature.

Breakfast. Transfer Lower Katun – Biysk (130 km). Biysk is the town, which was built in 18th century under the decree of Peter The Great. Now Biysk has the status of Science City and is the main gate to the Altai Mountains. Transfer Biysk – Barnaul (180 km). City tour around Barnaul with the visit to the museum and restaurant “Gornaya Apteka”. End of the program at 20:00 p.m.

In case the tourist is being late or does not appear at a scheduled time and a place for the group gathering, the Agency is not responsible for the full implementation of the schedule and no costs of this tour day are refunded. Attention! When visiting active monasteries and temples, women should avoid wearing trousers and shorts. A headdress is required.
Recommended clothing: A set of outfits for leisure and travel, a windproof and waterproof jacket, a warm sweater, two pairs of comfortable shoes, lightweight slippers for hotels, sun protection (cream, glasses, headdress), personal hygiene items.
