Meeting in Barnaul. Transfer Barnaul – Biysk (170 km) a city built by the decree of the emperor of Russia Peter the Great in the 18th century. Biysk now has the status of the City of science and it is the main gateway to the Altai Mountains. Walk through the old city streets, with a visit to the Monument to Peter the Great. Lunch. Transfer Biysk – Polevodka (30 km). Excursion to ethnopark “Altai. History of Russia”, where you will see the White Shaman, the Main Tambourine of Altai and the Golden Baba, a symbol of the well-being of the local indigenous people. Transfer Polevodka – Srostki (15 km), a birthplace of Vasily Shukshin, the famous writer, actor and film director. Visit to the mountain Picket, where the annual festival “Shukshin’s Readings” is held. Transfer Srostki – Gorno-Altaisk (70 km), the capital of the Altai Republic and also the only city in the Altai Republic. City tour with a visit to the observation deck. Transfer Gorno-Altaysk – Artybash (170 km). Chair lift ride to the Mount Kokuya. Dinner. Accommodation.

Breakfast. Boat trip around the Teletskoye Lake  – the largest lake in Altai and one of the largest lakes in Russia. The maximum depth of the lake is about 330 meters. Local people called the lake Altyn-Kol, which means “Golden lake”. Many rivers and streams flow into the lake, but only one river – Biya – flows out. A visit to the Altai State Biosphere Reserve and Korbu Waterfall (12.5 meters high) and picturesque whaterfall ChedorOn the way  – viewing waterfall Kishte, foreland Airan, Kamginskiy bay, reserve village Yaylyu from the boat. Lunch. Trekking on the eco-path “Third River” (by weather conditions). Visit to Ethno Park in Artybash village, tasting of national Altaian cuisine. Dinner.

Breakfast. Transfer Teletskoye Lake – Gorno-Altaisk (170 km). Excursion to the National Museum of the Altai Republic named after A. Anokhin. The Museum has large ethnographic collections of Altaian indigenous people and also displays the unique artifact – the mummy of Princess of Ukok. Lunch. Visiting the center of Altaian handicrafts: exhibition of felt products and tea ceremony a la Altai. Folklore program – unique throat singing and play on national musical instruments. Transfer Maima – Turquoise Katun (45 km). Excursion around the largest tourism center, including a warm artificial lake for swimming and fishing, restaurants, tourist centers, ski slopes, an extreme amusement park, art gallery, caves, apiary. Visit to the Tavdinsky Caves – a bright attraction of the Altai Territory. The entire cave complex has dozens of caves, many of which have several entrances and are connected to each other, forming a large interconnected system in which it is easy to get lost. Tavdinsky caves are known for the fact that at different times they served as housing for humans. During the excavations, pottery objects and other archaeological objects were found dating to the early Iron and Bronze Ages. Excursion to the apiary, tasting of Altaian honey, sleeping on bee hives. Transfer to the tourist complex. Accommodation. Dinner.

On foot – 5 km, auto – 255 km


Breakfast. Excursion to Chemal (70 km), to the Patmos Island – one of the most beautiful places in the Altai Mountains. The only way to the island is through the suspension bridge that connects rocks of the island with the rocks on the bank of the Katun river. There are a restored church commemorating St. John the Evangelist and the monastic cell of St. Makary Altaisky behind which you can see the rock with the indented image of Holy Mother. Opposite to the island is a monastery. A walk along the “goat’s path” is a narrow path with a great view of the confluence of rivers Chemal and Katun, as well as of Katun itself, flowing between rocky ledges. Lunch. Depending on the weather –  rafting on the Katun or motorafting on the Katun with a visit to Kamishlinskiy waterfall, which has two cascades of 12 m high. (Recommended: comfortable clothes and shoes, as it may get wet). Return to the tourist complex. Dinner.

On foot – 5 km, auto – 140 km 


Breakfast. Transfer Lower Katun – Karakol (190 km). Excursion to the Karakol nature park “Uch-Enmek”, which is a natural park that includes natural, historical, cultural, sacred complexes and objects: mounds, cave paintings, megalith complexes. The excursion displays the Altai culture and its cosmogony. Lunch. Transfer Karakol – Chibit (170 km), along the Chuisky tract up the Katun and Chuya rivers to the Kurai steppe. The history of the tract counts centuries when this road was a pack path, a branch of the Great Silk Road, the “Chinese Road”. It is included into the TOP-10 of the most beautiful roads in the world according to the National Geographic. On the way we overcome one of the largest passes Chike-Taman (1460 m), which is translated from Altaian language as “Flat Foot”. The pass has been known since the X century, today it is a steep winding road with an observation deck at the top. Accommodation. Dinner.

On foot – 3 km, auto – 360 km


Breakfast. Excursion to Kyzyl-Chin that tourists call “Mars” (90 km). Photostop against the North-Chuysky ridge on the way. Walk along the “Martian” mountains and kanyons of the Kyzyl-Chin stream. Exits of multi-colored clays on the surface evoke the sensation of another planet. Lunch. Excursion to the Geyser lake – rare in its beauty and purity. The lake is nonfreezing even in the winter time. It is an “earth eye eternally watching the space” that has amazing turquois сolour. You can see the round or oval blotchiness on the mirror surface of the lake that reflect the processes that happen at the bottom, where “geysers” come to life and spurt out the mixture of bluish clay and sand to the surface. Return to the tourist complex. Dinner.

On foot – 5 km, auto – 180 km 


Breakfast. Transfer Chibit – Lower Katun (320 km). On the way, visit of the Kalbak-Tash natural boundary, examine the cave paintings – petroglyphs. About 500 compositions, which include more than 5 thousand drawings. The time span of petroglyphs is from the Neolithic to the Turkic era. The monument is located on the right bank of the Chuya river. Visiting the historical and cultural complex “Chui-Oozi”. A photostop in the northern part of the geopark “Altai”. Chui-Oozi is the confluence of rivers Chuya and Katun. On the way back, stop at the Seminsky pass (1717 m) – one of the highest passes of the Chuysky tract. The pass, covered by the centuries-old “bearded” cedar-trees, is a kind of transition to the untouched nature of the Central Altai. Lunch. Accommodation at a tourist complex. Dinner with an ethnographic program in Russian traditions.

On foot – 3 km, auto – 320 km 


Breakfast. Trekking to the rock “The Thumb of the Devil”, which got its name thanks to a very peculiar ledge resembling a thumb. Transfer Lower Katun – Altaiskoye (70 km). Visit to the arboretum “Kholmogorye”, spread in a valley between the hills. Arboretum is very popular among lovers of eco-tourism. A walk in the sea of ​​deciduous and coniferous greens, deified by landscape designers, is the best rest from the hustle and bustle. Gastro-botanic lunch “New Altaian cuisine”. Transfer Altaiskoye – Belokurikha (50 km). The resort is known for its healing air and radon-containing springs. Sightseeing tour around the resort city. Transfer Belokurikha – Novotyryshkino (20 km). Accommodation at a tourist complex. Dinner.

On request: Russian sauna in the Altai Sanduny. A visit to the Russian sauna is a special ritual during which after a hot steam bath you can plunge into an ice font or an ice hole, and then rejuvenate in a warm tub in a decoction of oregano, eucalyptus and chamomile (additional fee).

Breakfast. Transfer Novotiyryshkino – Sibiryachikha (130 km). Folkloric and gastronomic excursion “Winding the bride”. A fascinating tour to the museum in the village of Sibiryachikha with an immersion into the daily life and traditions of the rural back-settlers, including dressing up all the guests in the traditional costumes of Old Believer. The ritual “Winding the bride” (wedding) of the Poles (the rame of Old Believers) is held in a stylized hut. The roles of the groom, bride, parents, and friends are to be fulfilled by the guests of the holiday. Traditional wedding dishes will delight all the participants with their originality and variety of tastes. Exact copies of costumes, songs and games create a time-shift effect. Transfer v. Sibiryachikha – v. Solonovka (100 km) – a village founded by Old Believers and Russian back-settlers, known as a point of attraction for paragliders and a private cheese factory. Lunch in Kerzhak traditions “Lenten cuisine of the Old Believers”. Transfer Solonovka – Novotyryshkino (30 km). Dinner.

In case of the bad weather and climate conditions and due to circumstances beyond the control of the organizer (road, local administration services, etc.), the elements of the tour program can be excluded, based on the actual situation on the route. Attention! In case the tourist is being late or does not appear at a scheduled time and a place for the group gathering, the Agency is not responsible for the full implementation of the schedule and no costs of this tour day are refunded. Attention! When visiting active monasteries and temples, women should avoid wearing trousers and shorts. A headdress is required.Recommended clothing: A set of outfits for leisure and travel, a windproof and waterproof jacket, a warm sweater, two pairs of comfortable shoes, lightweight slippers for hotels, sun protection (cream, glasses, headdress), personal hygiene items.

Important information: Attention!   There may be ticks and snakes in those areas where the tour will be carried out. So we strongly recommend to observe safety measures and to ensure anti-tick protection. We recommend you to have tickicide repellents (creams, sprays), however there were no incidents of tourists catch tick-borne encephalitis in the last years in our company.
